The case study, etiology and epidemiology of infectious diseases, especially viral diseases, of aquatic animals will be introduced. The diagnostic techniques and controlling procedures for the diseases will be also discussed.
The subjects of Doctoral Course: Advanced Aquatic Pathology
Trends of investigations on aquatic pathology will be discussed with reading and evaluating current papers.

The subjects of Master's Course: Aquatic In Vitro Cell Biology
The in vitro cultured cells isolated from living organism and maintained under the artificial condition are the essential material in current Cell Biological, and are the similar in the research of aquatic life sciences. This course is, therefore, focused on the lecture and the discussion that in the cell culture technique, the cell physiology and function, as well as the role and application of its in our research field.Topics are as follow: (1) Introduction, (2) in vitro cell culture technique and its essential factors (e.g. growth factors, ECM), (3)the cell proliferation physiology and Its related macromolecule, (4)visions for the fish cultured cells ( advantages and convenience, practicability and expansibility ).

The majority of species and strains reared globally for aquaculture are relatively unimproved for commercially important traits. The potential for genetic improvement in fish species is very high, compared with domestic livestock such as cattle, pigs, sheep, poultry, etc. Therefore, we are integrating molecular genetic technologies into aquaculture to help solve some of the major genetic problems.
